338 container ships are idled around the world
According to Alphaliner, nearly 6 per cent of the global fleet of container ships is now idle. Alphaliner's tally indicates that 338 ships, totalling about 1.48 million TEUs, are currently idle as freight levels, cargo volumes and port congestion return to pre-COVID-19 levels.
MSC surpassed Maersk as the shipping giant with the best on-time performance
For the first time, MSC surpassed Maersk as the carrier with the best on-time schedule, according to monthly Sea-Intelligence data. Among the 14 major airlines, MSC jumped to the top with nearly two-thirds (63.4 percent) of their flights on time, the best overall performance.
