Evergreen's first-quarter revenue fell 60.89%
Evergreen reported consolidated revenue of NT $21.885 billion in March, up 17.15 percent from February and down 62.7 percent from the same period last year. Cumulative consolidated revenue in the first quarter was NT $66.807 billion, down 60.89% year-on-year.
WTO raises forecast for global trade growth in 2023
The World Trade Organization(WTO) has released a report predicting that the volume of global trade in goods will grow by 1.7 percent in 2023, up from the 1 percent it predicted last October. The report said the "key factor" behind the revised global trade growth forecast was China's continued optimization and adjustment of epidemic prevention measures, which helped unleash consumer demand and boost international trade.
Japan's services PMI hit a 10-year high in March
Japan's services purchasing managers' index (PMI) rose 0.2 points to 54.2, the highest since October 2013, according to S&P Global. It has been above the 50 mark that separates expansion from contraction since September. Japan's manufacturing PMI rose 0.9 points to 48.6. The reason is that the return of Chinese tourists has boosted demand.
South Korean exports fell 17.2% in March
South Korea's trade deficit reached $4.62 billion in March, the 13th consecutive month of deficits, according to data released by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. South Korea's exports fell 13.6 percent in March from a year earlier, marking the sixth consecutive month of negative growth.
