According to the information, Honor Lane Shipping (“HLS”) has sold a majority stake to a consortium led by Nexus Point Capital, an Asian private equity fund with a particular focus on holding opportunities in Greater China. The selling shareholders will remain in the business and will continue to drive HLS growth with Nexus Point.
Founded in 1997 and headquartered in Hong Kong, Honor Lane Shipping (HLS) is the world's leading NVOCC non-vessel carrier, providing freight forwarding services. It is consistently ranked as one of the largest NVOCC on the Asia-US trade lane in terms of volume. HLS provides ocean freight forwarding, air freight forwarding and other value-added services to facilitate global freight forwarding. HLS has a network of offices in Asia and the United States, and has a strong presence in Greater China and Southeast Asia. BDA Partners acted as exclusive financial advisor to HLS in the transaction. Rumors of a sale began in October last year, considering a sale at a valuation of $500 million. The family-owned company partnered with BDA Partners to find a buyer, and the dust finally settled today. The final valuation was not disclosed.
HLS has now expanded to 38 owned offices with over 1000 employees. With a freight volume of more than 400,000TEUS, a diversified service portfolio and coverage, from 1KG express delivery to factory relocation projects, HLS simplifies freight solutions for customers.
