Vietnam's GDP grow by 8% in 2022

Vietnam's real gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 8.02% in 2022 from the previous year, according to statistics released by Vietnam's General Bureau of Statistics. Previously strictly enforced travel restrictions related to the pandemic have been eased, private consumption has recovered sharply and the economy is growing at its fastest pace since 2009, when public data are available.

Cargo volumes at Indian ports rose 5.9 per cent in December

According to Container News port data, India's national container volume in December was 1.7 million TEUs, up 5.9 per cent month-on-month. Adani Port saw a significant increase in container handling in December. The port of Chennai in southern India handled 117,749 TEUs last month, down slightly from 124,543 TEUs in November.

DHL announced a 7.9% increase in U.S. shipping rates

DHL International delivery giant announced a 7.9% increase in shipping rates in the U.S. on January 1, 2023. That means DHL's annual increase is bigger than the average increase that UPS and fedex are about to implement. In the first half of 2022, DHL Express international limited time volume decreased 6% year on year, and U.S. volume decreased 14.6% year on year.
